Huddersfield Town’s prolific goalscorer
Jordan Rhodes is set to join Blackburn’s push for promotion back to the Premier
League in a deal which could be worth up to £8m.
The 22-year-old Scotland striker will
undergo a medical at Rovers on Thursday morning before completing an initial
£4.5m deal which dependent on appearances and promotion to the Premier League
could be worth as much a £8m.
Steve Kean has been chasing a few strikers
since the injury blow to summer signing Leon Best, however Huddersfield have
repeatedly criticized the way in which Blackburn make their bids public.
The deal tabled by Rovers is one that many
Huddersfield fans have been dreading, a deal which offers Rhodes Premier League
wages whilst giving the Terriers a positive financial boost that may help them
to survive in the Championship.
Blackburn are undefeated in the league so
far and with the addition of such a prolific striker, automatic promotion could
be on the cards.
