Facebook Is Not Forcing Page Owners To Pay Per Post

Contrary to reports online and in the press recently, social media giant Facebook is not forcing businesses, groups or individuals who own pages to pay for their audience to see their posts.

There has been rumours circulating amongst the online community that Facebook would be cutting out the smaller page owners on their site by charging them to post updates.

These rumours are not true.

Here is the lowdown:

  • Facebook is introducing a scheme where page owners can (but dont have to) pay to have their posts highlight in fans news feeds. This is just like how Google use AdSense to target specific users and have highlighted results at the top of the page
  • Fans will still be able to see the posts made by pages they "like" as long as they have clicked "show in news feed".
  • To do this all you have to do is hover over where it says liked and make sure show in news feed is ticked (using Camel Club as an example below).

Speaking on Match of the Day, Redknapp said it would've been hard for him to turn down the opportunity to succeed Fabio Capello however he loves what he does at Tottenham so it would've been a difficult choice all round.

He said: "Of course it would have been difficult to say no, but i was never approached."

"I love the day to day stuff at Spurs, being on the training ground and seeing the players everyday, so i'm kind of glad i wasn't approached."

Harry also backs Roy Hodgson's choice of players for the Euros saying that England have the best back four and goalkeeper in the tournament.

STATEMENT ABOUT BALLS TO CANCER FUN RUN 2of2

It is with greatest regret that I must inform you all of the cancellation of the event we were scheduled to hold at the Canalside Complex on Sunday June 17th. The event has been cancelled by the main charity headquarters in Wolverhampton due to the lack of participants signed up to take part.

Balls To Cancer and I would both like to thank everyone who has been involved for the kind support you offered us during our attempts to put this event on and hope that with better preparation and a longer chance of promoting the event that next year we can hold a similar event.

Thanks,

Matt

STATEMENT ABOUT BALLS TO CANCER FUN RUN 1of2

To all the people who follow me on twitter (@MDJaggar), those who have liked the race on Facebook and to the individuals who have helped to organise the fun run, i would like to extend my greatest thanks to you for the support with the Balls To Cancer charity fun run since mid-march.

Unfortunately today I have been informed that due to the lack of numbers attending the event it is more than likely that this event in Huddersfield will be cancelled and tried again next year. Races will however still take place in Wolverhampton and Coventry.

We have been given 48 hours to attempt to push numbers up above a minimum requirement. If this is met, the race will be saved and Huddersfield (and the rest of Yorkshire) can help raise vital funds for the fight against cancer. If we cannot meet a minimum requirement then the next statement released by me will be one of a full cancellation of the work started in mid-March and the everything else to do with the 2012 race.

Please take just 30 seconds to share this statement with your friends on Facebook and post the short URL  on twitter to see if we can make this race possible.

To sign up simply visit www.ballstocancer.co.uk and fill in an application form. Also email to register interest to mdjaggar@gmail.com

Thank you again for your support.

Matt
