£1m Needed To Save Bradford Bulls

Bradford Bulls have confirmed that unless they can raise £1million they will go out of business. They need at least half of it before April 6th to secure their future.

The club is urging all its fans to donate £100 each in order to preserve the 78 year history. One anonymous fan has already pledged £5000 to their beloved team.

After already selling the lease to their stadium in Odsal to the Rugby Football League back in January, the Bulls blame the economic downturn and lack of "play-off football" for their financial woes.

"I don't think the situation could be anymore critical"

Chairman Peter Hood said: "If we haven't got cash then we can't stay alive and if we can't stay alive then we can't fulfil our fixtures. It's that serious.

"I don't think the situation could be more critical. We've got to generate a significant sum to survive and we're doing everything we can to achieve that."

The four time Super League champions last won the title in 2005 and since then have struggled in the league, leading to poor sponsorship deals. Unlike most of the other teams in the Stobart Super League, Bradford don't have a wealthy benefactor which is ultimately why they have had financial difficulties over the past few years.
