Liam Stacey, who was a third year student at Swansea University heard about Fabrice Muamba after a heavy session of drinking and posted on Twitter: "LOL f*** Muamba. He's dead."

After the backlash from Muamba supporters, Stacey then went on to post a torrent of racist tweets.
Police traced the tweets back to him before arresting him a day later.
Mr Stacey has today been given a 56 day custodial sentence, leaving him in tears as his was handcuffed and led away. He pleaded guilty to posting racially aggravated and harassing messages on the social networking site.
Swansea University have in turn thrown Stacey off his course, just weeks before his final exams and dissertation submission. Judge John Charles said that Liam had done "untold damage to his future."
