Drogba Sends Message To World Teams

Didier Drogba has finally confirmed the rumours he is to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of his contract.



Despite his agent denying the rumours he was going to leave, Drogba then came out and confirmed he would leave Chelsea and the Premier League in search of a new team at the end of his contact.

His departure sends a clear message to the rest of the world, he wants to carry on playing, but in a different place. This adds to the speculation that Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua are to sign him, however nothing has been agreed yet.

Drogba and Torres earlier this month

Speaking to the BBC, Drogba said he believed that fellow striker Fernando Torres is the future at Chelsea, despite his hit and miss form in recent months.

He said: "We [Torres and himself] have a good relationship. We don't understand why we didn't play together more, but that's the past. Torres is the future.It's been difficult for him, but he has showed he is the man. Next season is going to be his season."


After 8 years at the club, many believe he has paid his dues and on larege, the fans respect his decision to move on.
