France Football quoted Didier Drogba saying he was leaving Chelsea after 8 seasons, but today his agent has come out and denied the rumours.
The quote supposedly surfaced on the open top bus at the UEFA Cup parade through the streets of London, where Drogba is reported to have told team mates he would be leaving at the end of his contract.
Drogba's agent has denied this as well as that he has signed for Shanghai Shenhua, following in the footsteps of ex-Chelsea team mate Nicolas Anelka who moved there in January on a two year deal.
It is believed that he is looking for a new two year deal at Chelsea however he was only offered one, which is where the problems have arisen.
Team mate Gary Cahill has pleaded to keep the world talented striker at the club. Speaking to the BBC he said: "It was just fitting that he took the penalty that won us the cup, he got us back in the game late doors. He just seems to turn up in these big games and that's the kind of player he is."
