AVB To Stay In London?

Andre Villas-Boas is the odds on favourite to succeed Harry Redknapp after his dismissal as Spurs manager this morning.

AVB, who was sacked as Chelsea manager back in March, has reportedly been contacted Daniel Levy, majority shareholder of the ENIC group that owns Tottenham, and could be installed as early as next weekend.

Is this the new face of Spurs?
Spurs have refused to comment on the rumours, however a source close to the club says the Portugese manager is the first choice of the board.

Harry Redknapp spent four years with the North London club before his departure this morning. He believed even if he had managed to gain the club a Champions League spot, he still would not have kept his job.

He said: "We missed out on third place by one point in the end, but that is how it goes. I think the same outcome would have happened, the chairman would have gone down the same road. I had four great years at Spurs. All you can do is leave the club in a better state than you found it and I did that, for sure."

Bookies have Villas-Boas at even odds to take the job across the capital city from his previous home at Stamford Bridge, where he survived only nine months.
